The Preserve at Honey Creek will open THIS SATURDAY!
The Preserve at Honey Creek Resort will reopen for play this Saturday, giving golfers a chance to return to one of southern Iowa’s standout courses while new management begins the work of restoring it to championship condition.
Josh Black with Maxim Golf Solutions said the company signed its contract only days ago, but its team has already been on site preparing the course, setting up operations and working with agronomy staff to get the property ready for Memorial Day weekend. Black said the course will not be perfect immediately, noting it had been largely untouched since October, but he emphasized that major progress has already been made and the long-term goal is to bring The Preserve back to the level golfers remember.
The course will open with introductory rates of $45 on weekends and $40 Monday through Thursday. Black said early clubhouse offerings will be limited, with some pro shop items, soda and light food options available as vendors and licensing are finalized. Online tee times are expected to be available soon, and the course will remain open for the summer with limited hours at first.
Maxim Golf Solutions will manage the golf course, while the resort and hotel will be operated separately. Black said the two groups are excited to work together, though stay-and-play packages will have to wait until the hotel side is ready to reopen. He also said former Preserve golf professional Darin Fisher will be back this weekend to help with the reopening, offering a familiar face for longtime golfers.
